Josh collabs with Melbourne

I am a second (and final) year Furniture Design student at RMIT in Melbourne. To celebrate the city I grew up in I have decided to collaborating with it by using materials that people have dumped on the streets and incorporating them into my designs. I hate the throwaway culture that too many current products rely on, a bottle of water is only a vessel once and then it is thrown away, often ending up in the ocean, I want to create specialist products that have meaning to the buyer so they wont be so quick to bin it. So far I have been collecting PETE and HDPE plastic to melt down and remake into seats, I'm also always on the lookout for discarded pallet boards (heat treated) and old break baskets.
